Dylan Thompson is a new student to the McAuliffe School this year. He is an incredible boy who has something called NF. NF is short for Neurofibromatosis. Dylan is doing very well and he is always willing to share information with anyone who inquires. Dylan and his mom brought his guide dog Ozzy in for a visit before Christmas vacation. Mrs. Thompson (Dylan's mom) also brought T Shirts and bracelets for Mrs. Bedard's class to support the NF foundation. Thank you to Dylan, Ozzy & Mrs. Thompson for making us aware. We took alot away from your visit.

McAuliffe School PTO News:
The PTO at the McAuliffe School has had a great year thus far and we would like to thank all of you for your support. We have already had two fundraisers, the DiBuono catalog fundraiser and Square 1 Art, which have raised over $7500. With this money, we have been able to sponsor field trips, a BMX green party, and new guitar stands and magazines for Mrs Squeglia’s music class. Our 2nd annual Halloween “Spooktacular” was a BIG success with a lot of wonderful costumes and spooky fun. Thanks to all of you that donated Thanksgiving dinner food and helped assemble the Thankful Baskets in November. That is always a rewarding event for us. We meet every Thursday at drop off for our “Volunteer Hour,” which has been a great way for parents to connect with each other. Our monthly contests have been exciting for the kids and fun for us. The Terracycle recycling program has been a success. The money we are raising will be used to paint a mural behind the stage in the auditorium, as well as the bathrooms. Our next PTO meeting is January 17th at 6:00 pm. We hope you are able to join us at this meeting!
From all of us at the McAuliffe PTO we wish you and your families
a safe and happy holiday season! See you in 2012!

Barry Burbank (WBZ Channel 4 Meteorologist)
The 4th graders at the McAuliffe school had a very special visit from Barry Burbank last week. Mr. Burbank has been a meteorologist for over 30 years. He talked to us about weather and what it is like to be a meteorologist. To be honest, it sounds like a really cool job! His visit tied right into our water and weather unit that we are working on in Science.
Thank you Mr. Burbank for coming to visit the McAuliffe!!

November Green Party
All we can say is that our November Green Party was AWESOME!!!!! Okay well, we can say a lot more than that but we had to say that first. The McAuliffe School REALLY is the BEST school in Lowell. We have such great kids who get to celebrate their greatness at the end of every month with a Green Party. This month was incredible! BMX Bikers Kevin Robinson & Chris Poulos came to the McAuliffe school and showed us so many amazing tricks on their bikes! They also talked to us about bullying, respect and about how if we really want to go far in life we have to remember to never be a BULLY and ALWAYS respect ourselves and others. It was a great Green Party. One we'll remember for a long time! Check out the pics!!
